Cultivating the Future

70 East 4th Street Before

Rendering of 70 East 4th Street After

Thanks to the NYC Department of Housing Preservation along with the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, Alpha Omega was presented with the opportunity to purchase a 3 ½ story building for $1 provided it could raise the funds to renovate the space on East Fourth Street in Lower Manhattan. Together with a partnering non-profit, Downtown Art, we have currently raised over 4 million dollars to renovate the vacant building to house our programming and are now under renovation.

Funding for our future dance studio and offices at 70 East 4th Street have been made possible by the former Mayor Michael Bloomberg, NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, former Borough President’s Scott Stringer and C. Virginia Fields, current Council Member Rosie Mendez, and former Council Member Margarita Lopez.

Meetings with the NYC Department of Design and Construction and the Department of Cultural Affairs are ongoing and we expect our doors to open in 2016!

Though generous, the funding however does not cover Alpha Omega’s costs for outfitting the interior to move in and the increase in operational costs for the new building. Alpha Omega is therefore still in a major fund raising mode to cover these impending costs.

We thank you for your continued support and welcome all donations toward building our future.
